Blur an Entire Video
If you want to blur the whole video for some reason, you can follow these steps:
- Open CapCut and tap on + New project.
- Select the video you want to blur and tap on Add.
- Tap on Effects from the bottom toolbar.
- Tap on Video Effects and scroll to the Basic category.
- Tap on the Blur effect and adjust the intensity as you like.
- Tap on the tick mark to apply the effect.
- To make the blur effect last for the entire video, tap on the Blur bar on the timeline and drag its end pointer to match the end of your video.
Blur a Portion of a Video
If you want to blur only a part of your video, such as the beginning or the end, you can follow these steps:
- Open CapCut and tap on + New project.
- Select the video you want to blur and tap on Add.
- Decide which part of the video you want to blur and slide the vertical line on the timeline to mark where the blur effect will start or stop.
- Tap on Edit from the bottom toolbar and then tap on Split.
- Tap on Effects from the bottom toolbar again.
- Tap on Video Effects and scroll to the Basic category.
- Tap on the Blur effect and adjust the intensity as you like.
- Tap on the tick mark to apply the effect.
- To make the transition smoother, tap on Adjust and select a fade-in or fade-out option.
Blur an Object in a Video
If you want to blur a specific object in your video, such as a face or a logo, you can follow these steps:
- Open CapCut and tap on + New project.
- Select the video you want to blur and tap on Add.
- Tap on Overlay from the bottom toolbar and then tap on Add Overlay.
- Select the same video again and resize it to match the original video.
- Tap on Effects from the bottom toolbar again.
- Tap on Video Effects and scroll to the Basic category.
- Tap on the Blur effect and adjust the intensity as you like.
- Tap on the tick mark to apply the effect.
- To mask out the object you want to blur, tap on Mask from the bottom toolbar.
- Select a shape that fits your object, such as a circle or a rectangle, and resize it and move it over your object.
- To make sure that only your object is blurred, tap on Invert mask.
